Easter Muffin Tin Monday

(yes… on Wednesday, rather than monday – MiniObsi broke a tooth and had to have it taken out, so smooshy foods were the go until today)

Easter theme today.

I boiled an egg, and then cracked the shell and soaked it in some diluted food colouring, to make it patterned. With bunny sandwiches, cheese chicks in a nest of little cracker stuff… and some candy coated choc eggs.

Muffin Tin Monday

There is this great idea – Muffin Tin Monday, where you serve a meal (breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner – whatever) in a muffin tin – or muffin cups…I love the idea because it’s almost like bento.  However I think it’s probably easier to do when you have toddlers to feed…

So, I’m going to try to do this – for fun… since MiniObsi can’t take a muffin tin to school (though she does usually take food in muffin cups, so it sort of coun ts), it might be an after school snack or something for me… we’ll see how it goes.

Today’s effort is not very inspired… and not actually Monday…. We were out yesterday and had lunch out, and were too full for an afternoon snack, so I made MTM today….. I’d planned to make sushi… so it’s not particularly fancy, but it is served in a muffin tin, so, it’s a start 😀  MiniObsi and I ate from the same tray – they are tuna & avocado…. mine (in the black cups) have pickled ginger in them too.

— also… yes, I’m aware my muffin tray is gross, appologies to anyone with a weak stomach looking at it 🙂  Where the actual food goes is it’s proper silvery clean colour, but the top gets baked on oil from the cooking spray, and years of use…. so even though it’s clean it does need a very good scrub!

..anyway… Muffin tin…. sushi!
